However if you do fancy a curated case of superb wines that work beautifully together and will be enjoyed by all then you've come to the right place!

Festive Favourites Mixed Case

A mixed case perfect for entertaining this Christmas with something for everyone! A Bordeaux Rouge, and an Argentinian malbec, a French Rose, and an Italian Rose Prosecco, capped off with a delicious Italian white and a top-notch Champagne

We begin with the ‘Pierre Bertrand Champagne Premier Cru NV’ A sensational Champagne rated 98/100 by a Decanter tasting panel. This is an easy drinking medium bodied Champagne from Cumieres, In the Marne Valley. A deep copper/gold colour which is peachy and lush, explosively juicy but balanced by fresh lemony notes. Bottle aged for 6-8 years which is much longer than most NV champagnes on the market lends itself to a complexity and character unmatched by any product in this price range.

We have chosen a brilliant Italian white in this year’s selection. The ‘Falanghina Beneventano – 2020’ from Vesevo. We could’ve played safe with a delicious sauvignon blanc from Esk Valley or a superb French oaked chardonnay from Dom. Gayda, but this wine is too special to miss. With flavours of aromatic jasmine & ripe melon lushness, mint/basil coolness, and a tufa mineral hint. This wine has won IWSC, IWC and Decanter bronze awards in previous years. Truly different to most of what we will be drinking this Christmas and refreshing and challenging in an enjoyable way.

If you should enjoy a rose prosecco then look no further than the ‘Barocco Millesimato DOC – 2020’ this light rose coloured fizz is sure to be enjoyed by all with its Delicate and complex bouquet with fruity notes of peach, green apple and lemon. Floral notes of acacia and rose. Fresh and light on the palate, with balanced acidity and body. Rounded and full-bodied structure.

The 'Dom. D'Aula Cotes De Gascogne IGP Rose - 2020' is made from local grape varieties as well as better known Merlot, has aromas of redcurrant and red berries, lots of berry flavours and a nice citrussy kick. Drink on its own (it's ridiculously easy to enjoy!) or with tapas, salads and smoked meats. Located in the heart of Gascony, the Domaine D'Aula vineyard enjoys the influence of the rain protection of the Pyrenees mountains to the south and the maritime influence of the Atlantic to the west. This provides the ideal climate for producing aromatic, well-balanced wines with character and intensity.

‘Otello Malbec – 2020’ The previous vintage (2019) was one of Christmas 2020s dark horses which quickly became a Craft’d Favourite. This fruity, brambly and supple wine, which is a distinctly Argentinian Malbec will impress with generous lashing of plum, blackberry and hints of vanilla spice. Delicious to enjoy with a meal or on its own.

'Chateau Lepine, Merlot 2016' is the original name of Chateau du Cros, which is owned by the Boyer family. The average age of the vines is over 40 years old and the grapes are grown on the hilly slopes on the right bank of the Garonne river some 25 miles South of Bordeaux. The wine is easy drinking claret, unoaked with lots of fruity flavours and texture, without being overpowering. Wine of dark garnet colour with purple reflections. The aroma and taste are dominated by ripe black currants and plums. The wine has a fine tannin and a pleasant velvety finish.

Red wine tasting collection

Six delicious red wines including two of our ‘Best of the Best’ bottles. Two sumptuous French reds, A tantalising Puglia Rosso, An Argentinian malbec, and a selection of South African delights.

First up the indomitable ‘Edizione Cinque Autoctoni 20 – 2018’ from Fantini. Now in its 20th year of production this excellent Italian red is going from strength to strength. Rated 99/100 by Luca Maroni for a third year in a row is quite the achievement. A deep ruby red wine with blackberry and cherry and an herbaceous minerality which is alluring as you sip, elements of cinnamon and cocoa help to round out the distinctive flavour. Velvety tannins are complemented by the savoury sweetness of the French oak all wine leaves a long smooth fruity finish with elegant mouth feel.

The next bottle we must talk about is the ‘Fenix Dombeya - 2017’, all the way from Haskell Vineyards in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Smooth and refined with bold flavours of rich fresh fruits and rose to a more serious tobacco, dark plum and blackcurrant leaf that lingers favourably in the aftertaste. A perfect red wine which pairs beautifully with Lamb, Beef and Red Meats as well as going beautifully with your after-dinner cheeses. Haskell wines are notoriously rare in the UK, and we believe we are possibly the only UK retailer to be selling this sensational wine this Christmas!

'Running Duck Shiraz – 2019’ this delicious Shiraz from South Africa is sure to slide down all too easily. Organic and Fairtrade. This wine has a rich dark colour with a smoky and vanilla nose. Dark fruit on the palate gives the wine an all-round juiciness. Oaky tannins impart a spicy finish with good structure. Did you know that Shiraz and Syrah are actually the same grape variety? Syrah is generally from Europe and Shiraz from New World wine regions.

'Chateau Lepine, Merlot - 2016' is easy drinking claret, unoaked with lots of fruity flavours and texture, without being overpowering. Wine of dark garnet color with purple reflections. The aroma and taste are dominated by ripe black currants and plums. The wine has a fine tannin and a pleasant velvety finish. Chateau Lepine is the original name of Chateau du Cros, which is owned by the Boyer family. The average age of the vines is over 40 years old and the grapes are grown on the hilly slopes on the right bank of the Garonne river some 25 miles South of Bordeaux.

The final bottle in our set is a true easy drinking champion which pairs beautifully with a range of foods, The ‘Le Versant Pinot Noir – 2019’ is a wine with a Delicate colour with garnet tones. On the nose, aromas of cherry, wild strawberries and fresh blackcurrant. Elegant and smooth palate with fruity, smoky and minty hints. Great when enjoyed with cooked meats, anything which is smoked, charcuterie and cheeses.

White Wine Case

Six delicious white wines including some supreme easy drinking delights from New Zealand and South Africa, A divine French Chardonnay, A sensationally British still white and an Italian pinot grigio.

We begin with the ‘Esk Valley Sauvignon Blanc - 2020’ in what was a very difficult year for sauvignon blanc with reported harvests down 80%, New Zealand Sauvignon has proven quite difficult to find, and this bottle will be even harder to keep given its deliciousness. Passion fruit and pea shoots mingle easily on the nose of this medium-bodied wine. This is a fully dry and somewhat austere Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, ending on notes of white grapefruit and hints of underripe stone fruit.

We have chosen a brilliant Italian white in this year’s selection - The ‘Falanghina Beneventano – 2020’ from Vesevo.

Pinot Grigio is many white wine drinkers go-to, and this bottle will be enjoyed by all. The ’Colline Teatine IGT Pinot Grigio - 2020’ is A beautifully, light, vibrant white to be appreciated for its zesty, citrus, and green apple character and refreshing quality.

The 'Dom. Gayda Chardonnay - 2020' is appealingly floral and fruity on the nose. Toasty, stone fruit, mineral with good weight and depth on the palate. Fresh finish. This wine was described as “Fresh, clean, cool-climate style Chardonnay. A mélange of citrus and tropical fruit with a creamy texture from some expert oak handling. Chablis with attitude.” by Matthew Stubbs - Master of Wine.

The 'Dalwood Still White Wine - 2020' is created from the grapes of the Dalwood Vineyards single estate, one block vineyard in East Devon. This single block produces just 3,800 bottles of still wine. Hints of pear, mango and citrus combine for a rounded taste and a long well balanced finish. The three varieties are picked individually by hand, to ensure each variety is harvested at it’s best. They employ a minimal intervention, whole-bunch pressing method that allows the flavours of the crop to flourish.

To complete our easy drinking trio, we have the ‘Leaping Hound Chenin Blanc/Viognier – 2020’ White peach and hints of jasmine on the nose. On the palate it has tight, white, fleshy stone fruit and fresh apricot flavours that balances the sandy texture. Bright acidity and minerality helps to deliver a delicious flavoursome and Character filled wine.
