Chateau Lepine, Merlot, France 2016


Easy drinking claret, unoaked with lots of fruity flavours and texture, without being overpowering. Wine of dark garnet color with purple reflections. The aroma and taste are dominated by ripe black currants and plums. The wine has a fine tannin and a pleasant velvety finish.

Chateau Lepine is the original name of Chateau du Cros, which is owned by the Boyer family. The average age of the vines is over 40 years old and the grapes are grown on the hilly slopes on the right bank of the Garonne river some 25 miles South of Bordeaux.
